HOLIDAY SWAG WORKSHOP -

Such a beautiful day it was. The sun was shinning, the shop door wide open all day, happy, smiling people out enjoying the day. Linda had such a fun event, with so many different kinds of tree boughs, pine cones, mossy limbs, ivy, holly, cedar, juniper etc. etc. etc. Her events are always a hit. Her grandaughter, Micaela, was her helper and they even brought in some new decorations. All handmade, country, and one of a kind. You have another chance to make a wreath with Linda on December 3 - (THE ROOST GRAND OPENING DAY at noon) plus she left a couple at the shop ready made for sale. 22 - TWISTED TWIG TRELLIS OR GATE WORKSHOP - 11am - 1 pm Learn to make a large or small rustic trellis or wonderful rustic gate from branch material decorated with hearts, X's, diagonals, or our own custom design. If you have them bring pruners, gloves, pruning saw, hammer, pliers, wire cutters, and cordless drill. $25

6 - Beginning Backyard Bee Keeping - 10:30 – 12:30 How-To for Backyard Bee Keeping - what you need to start, what your yard needs to grow, what you need to know. Patricia Tawney, of Tawney Farm, will describe her farm's hives and her experience, both good and bad, raising bees in her yard. Patricia's farm produces Tawney Farm honey sold here at Wade Creek House.

Topics: How to get to "organic," "letting" and honey providers (getting honey off the comb - spinners & providers & costs); setting up a hive; feeding bees (honey vs sugar - Dec - April); mites and other woos; swarming (it is a good thing); providing for your bees Feb - Nov. Bring your questions

13 - ADVANCED CONCRETE LEAF CASTING - Create concrete art with larger leaves from your own backyard or ours. Leaves used will be no larger than 16" x 16". We will be adding color and reinforcement. It is recommended that leaves be left on site for 72 hours prior to transport. To transport leaves home, you must bring a sturdy box or plywood big enough to hold your finished leaf - at least 18" x 18". You can bring your own leaf or use one of ours.

20. . - BENEFIT GARDEN TOUR - 3rd Annual Estacada Garden Tour hosted by The Wade Creek House is to benefit our Estacada Senior Community Center. Come and experience a day in the country. Our garden tour features many beautiful gardens, each one unique. The tour, rain or shine, is where you will stroll down garden paths and admire gardens full of amazing colors, beauty and a gardeners imagination. We will take you through some urban gardens and out to country to more wonderful rural gardens. $15ea/$25 couple, children under 13 free. You can prepay beginning July 1^stbut garden tour maps will not be available until day of tour. JOIN US SUPPORTING THIS GREAT CAUSE!!

3 - Trash 2 Treasure: small furniture workshop. 10:30 am Give new life to a tired piece of furniture with paint using distressing techniques, painters tape and stensils. Carrie will assist you in executing and learning techniques to transform pieces on your own. You will be provided with a variety of paint colors, brushes, sandpaper, painters tape, and stencils. Small furniture pieces: chairs, end tables, magazine rack, shelves, nightstands, tables - a variety of vintage small furniture pieces. Bring a paint shirt and specific paint color if you wish (satin or flat) $75

10 - CONCRETE HYPERTUFA TROUGH - Create a functional and lightweight planter made from concrete, perlite, and peat moss. This planter is perfect for showing off your sedum and succulets or alpine plants. You must bring a sturdy box and other form with a sturdy base to create our trough, no larger than 12" x 12" Form will be lined with heavy plastic which is provided. $25

7 - Heritage Canvas Family Tree Wreath – 10:30am – 12:30 pm. A Great Mothers Day Gift! Create a rustic heritage style family tree wreath using canvas, burlap, and black and white family photos. Include family names on leaves and wire in 14 inch wreath. Bring black and white copies of family photos, sharp scissors, names for wired leaves, and copy of family crest if desired. $28
